#H1.6 Catherine Hammond

Ø   1810: Catherine Hammond born 1 January; baptised 6 January[1]

Ø   1838: Catherine Hammond married Henry Solomon on 17 October at Dartford[2]. He was born in 1813, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Solomon,[3] and was a farmer from Shorne, a small parish east of Gravesend, Kent. The couple went to live in Thong, a hamlet in the parish of Shorne, and had six children, one of whom died in infancy:

#H1.7 Eliza Hammond (1811-1880)

Ø   1811: Eliza Hammond born 4 March, baptised 29 March[18].

Ø   1839: Eliza Hammond married William Solomon, 17 October[19]. He was born in 1815[20] and was the brother of Henry Solomon (above). The couple had two children:

#H1.7.1 Susan Solomon (1845-1899)[21].

#H1.7.2 Stanley Solomon (1847-1898)[22]

Ø   1841: Family in Cobham, Kent; William a farmer[23].

Ø   1851: Family in Bredgar, Kent; William farming 535 acres employing 21 labourers[24].

Ø   1861: Family in Gore Park House, Upchurch, Kent; William farming 500 acres employing 20 men and 6 boys[25].

Ø   1871: Family at Hurst, Upchurch, Kent; William a farmer[26].

Ø   1872: death of William Solomon at Upchurch 27 July[27]. Executors of his estate, valued at under £8,000, were his brother Henry Solomon of Shorne, his son Stanley Solomon of Hartlip, and his nephew William Simmons Solomon of Herne[28].

Ø   1880: death of Eliza Solomon in Milton registration district[29].

#H1.11 Edward Hammond (1818-post 1881)

Ø   1818: Edward Hammond baptised 17 June[30].

Ø   1841: Edward Hammond in New Brentford home of his brother #H1.1 William Essenhigh Hammond; Edward an oil presser[31].

Ø   1843: Edward Hammond married Emily Jones at All Saints, Kingston-upon-Thames, 10 November[32]. Emily was born in 1822, the daughter of dispensing chemist William Beale Jones and his wife Mary[33]. Edward and Emily had six children:

Ø   1861: Edward Hammond married Rosalind Buckley in Brighton 20 August[47]. Rosalind was born in Lambeth in 1826, the daughter of Henry and Ann Buckley[48].The couple had one child:

Ø   1841: Frederick Hammond at Town Wharf, Dartford; Frederick a coal merchant[53].

Ø   1850: Frederick Hammond married #G5 Charlotte Joanna Gurnell, the sister of Thomas Gurnell, in Glanford Brigg, Lincolnshire, registration district[54]. The couple had five children:
